I told you it was coming, and here it is. Next task is to set up an NFS share and a client to connect to it. An important part of this is that both the server and the client must automatically come back online upon reboot. Also, the share needs to use the local network and not be routed elsewhere, because A) there will be sensitive data passed back and forth, and B) we need the speed.
